Last weekend was busy and unforgetable in many ways.

On Saturday morning we went to the baptism of Joel's niece, he is our friend and now landlord. I didn't want to go at first, you know, wanted to sleep in and all. But Trevor really wanted me to go and I caved in. He had been invited by their family to do the closing prayer and felt really honored. I am so glad he kinda made me go! That baptism started a kind of revolution in me. For starters, I was baptized when I was 17 so I remember that day really well and to see such a tiny little girl enter the baptismal font brought a lot of emotions back to me. Then while we were waiting for her, Suzett, and Joel to get dried up and ready, Joel's sister played a song in the piano that brought me to tears. I don't know what it is called but it goes like this: "I will find you my friend and I will teach you the plan, please accept me when I find you and I will show you the way; Remember that the souls are precious in the eyes of the Lord, it's so good to find the Lord's sheep" -- or something like that, I am doing a literal translation here because even though it IS an American song I learned it in Portuguese...

That song was initially translated in Brazil by Janessa and Michelle Gollaher, who were my first "LDS friends" for their dad was the mission president in my area and he's the one who gave me the Gift of the Holy Ghost right after my baptism. Anyway, we used to sing that song at every baptism in my ward and I continued that tradition throughout my mission. Listening that song on Saturday brought a LOT of memories... and good ones!

We had some food after the baptism (and I had white bread, bad for the diet, oh well...) and after that I went to the Cougarettes in Concert matinée (byucougarettes.com). I love their show more than words can say, it's always inspiring and one song/choreography in special caught my attention more than the others and, again, the emotion converted into tears. It was called "Do They See Jesus In Me" with music with the same title sang by Joy Williams, and I want to invite you all to listen to that song, it's on youtube. Beautiful! The cougarettes were wearing a white outfit that, when they moved, made them look like angels. And the lyrics of the song... my my, so touching. It was awesome!

Since those experiences I have been thinking a lot, A LOT, about myself and what I need to become, what my long term mission is in this Earth and how I can better myself and help others "see Jesus in me". How do I do that? Is it even possible? There is so much in my head and heart right now that it is overwhelming BUT it will bring changes for the better. And I will keep you posted! :)

So after all that, on Saturday night we went to a party in SLC where our friend George's band played Brazilian music live. They have a cd out called Jinga Boa and Trevor and I highly recommend :) It's very tasteful Brazilian music, a little of samba and pagode, chorinho and bossa nova combined in a very talented way. We saw some friends from capoeira and I danced a lot -- nice cardio for the day!
PS - Trevor wanted you to know that he changed into that "wife beater" because it was hotter than hot in that place. He was wearing a great yellow button down shirt and he was HOT, I mean, yummie hot! I think Trevor was the one who caused that place'temperature to rise, he he he ;)

Sunday, you know, testimony meetings are always a highlight. I like my new ward very much!

And the week began and I am still pondering about a lot of things. I just want to be the best I can be and not leave anything behind. No regrets. I don't want to see Jesus again and have to say "yeah I guess I could have done THAT too..." you know? aaahhhh!!! Anyway, hope you're all having a great weak!

Please check Joy William's song, it's gorgeous! Tell me if you liked it:)
Hugs,
Kika*

I'm jealous you got to go to mom's night out. I'm still waiting for the announcement:) We're liking Magna. It's finally getting warm so I send the kids outside. It's so nice to have a little patch of lawn.
