I'm Gonna Party Like It's My Birthday!

So it was my birthday on Saturday and here is how birthdays are celebrated, Kika Style:

Lunch with Trevor's family at Tucanos on Wednesday
Gotta love those bday coupons!

Dinner-date with Trevor and Olivia on Friday
Don't we look cute?

After dinner, a yummie cake at Jordan & Lindsey's

BBQ with Brazilian friends on Saturday

Cake and ice-cream with Trevor's family on Sunday

So I blew a 'few' candles on three different cakes and my birthday wish is sold out. What is my luck? :(

And do you know how old I am now??

Pedrinho's Wedding

It was such a fun day!
Sealing in the morning, yummie luncheon at Tucanos in SLC, fun reception in Heber. Yes, lots of travelling, but it was sooooooooo worth it!

Here are some pics:The happy couple, Pedro & Sarah Granja

Brazilian crowd and spouses

It was HIS idea!!

This one too... :)

My beautiful besterest friend, Helga!

We like them funky shoes.

Dancing at the reception

Yummie and beautiful cake!

The man on the right is Pedro's dad,
my former stake president in Brazil,
and him and Trevor got along GREAT :)

Last picture before heading home to Provo.
And wishing bride and groom all the happiness in the universe!

When you go to a wedding reception, does it make you want to get married (to your spouse, of course), all over again? Ah, so much fun!!! :)

This Is For My People

Sarah's father baptized Pedro's mother on his mission in Recife, Brazil, years ago.
Pedro was my Sunday School student in Brazil when he was about 14, before my mission and before I moved to the US.
His father was our stake president and was the one who was there to send me on a mission and to pick me up at the airport along with my ward. Awesome and caring family.
Tomorrow Pedrinho and Sarah are getting married!! Yes, he'll marry the daughter of the man who baptized his mother years and years ago. How cool is that?!

Trevor and I went over to Sarah's parents' house today to say hi and chat a little, since tomorrow will be such a busy day for everybody. It was so much fun! Last time I saw Pedro's parents was in 2003, my last visit to Brazil.

Here we are after a lot of updating, laughs, good memories and strengthened friendships:
Bride and groom will be married for time and eternity tomorrow in the Bountiful Temple, we wouldn't miss it for the world :)

ps1 -- Doesn't the wall decor look like it's part of my hairdo???
ps2-- I feel awful about being such a bad blog visitor! It's been busy couple of weeks but I will catch up on visiting you girlies on Sunday, promise! ;)
