Sisterhood Meeting, Yes, Sisterhood!

You know what, it is okay that the men have their own meeting, I am coming to accept that, but it really helps that I have so many fun girl friends who will get together with me and have even more fun than the men will ever have in those two hours (ha!).

So yesterday some of my Brazilian friends and I went to Zuppas in Draper (yes, Nikki, Zupas again!) and the company was better than the food!

From left and around the table: Aninha, Helga, Barbara, Anne, me, Camilla and son Lukas, Emma.

It was the first time that I met Barbara (Babinha) and Emma in person and I am so happy that this day finally arrived. They're so pretty and sweet and NICE! How rare it is to meet someone for the first time and already feel a conection?!

These are Helga and Aninha.
Helga and I have been friends since I was baptized, when I was 17 (yes, billions of years ago, thankyouverymuch) and we have just sooooo many memories, I could write a book as big (and hopefully not as boring) as the Bible with our experiences and fun and crazy times together. She is one of the few people that knows me more than my own mother does - and that's a LOT! She is also one of the even fewer people I would sacrifice my life for. I love her sooooooooooooooo much! We are sisters, just not from the same womb, but we *know* we are sisters! She is living in WA now and.... I miss her...
I met Aninha online through a photo-log community a little before Trevor and I started dating. We have connected very quickly and Aninha has helped me just so much with so many things! She is my fashion adviser, my america's next top model, my sweet little sister and an angel in the shape of a woman. So wise, so smart, so witty, so beautiful, so... Aninha! I love her!

I am so grateful for my friends. I won't lie, it has been getting harder and harder for me to trust people, to want to be around them and to want to open up about myself to them. But there are a few, very few, in whom I know I can trust my soul and my life. It's scary and yet relieving to know that bonds like that can be created and kept... Scary because the more we trust people the more they can hurt us, relieving because the more we trust people the more they can surprise us. It's a gamble and, so far, these two have been winners in my casino :)
how lame was that? I'll just end here! :)
