I have lunch every day at the
Tahitian Noni Café and, let me tell you, I don't get sick of it. They have yummie salads and lean meats and it has been a great way to stay on my diet while enjoying delicious meals.
Yesterday I wasn't hungry for protein, so I thought I would just have their Anuanua Fruit Plate, a delicious variety of 2 slices of watermelon, 2 of canteloupe, 2 of pineapple, 2 of melons, grapes, strawberries and kiwi. BUT, they do serve the fruit plate with a type of cream. Delicious. Irresistable. Evil. And I could only imagine what went into that portion of heaven. Then, instead of just enjoying it while telling myself "there's gotta be some cottage cheese in there and that's protein so it's ok", I made the MISTAKE of asking a server what they used to make that deliciousness. Her response:
- It's a miss of cream cheese, coconut syrup, whip cream, heavy cream and sometimes vanilla flavoring.
*GASP*
And by the time I asked her, here's what was left of my fruit plate AND the cream:
Lesson Learned: when you're eating something delicious and irresistible, it WILL probably ruin your diet. Just don't ask what it's made of. It's ok as long as you don't know.
Ignorance IS bliss!
